Tom Kulmala, C.E.T., is an Estimator with
the Company. He has 29 years of experience as an Estimator,
Project Manager, Project Coordinator and Planner/Scheduler.
Tom has worked for Union and Non-Union General Contractors
as well as Consulting Engineers. Tom had worked with Algoma
Steel for many years as Senior Construction and Maintenance
Planner/Scheduler and involved with large Industrial projects
such as Blast Furnace Relines, #2 Tube Mill and the Direct
Strip Production Complex. Most recently he was the Project
Leader on the 300 ton Algoma Steel Heavy Lift Transport
Scale which is the largest scale in North and South America.
He had also performed the scheduling function at the $600,000,000
Nickel Rim South Project at Sudbury Ontario (including Engineering,
Procurement, Construction and Commissioning).
Tom attended the Civil Engineering Technology
program at both Sault College and Fanshawe College. He is
registered with OACETT as a Certified Engineering Technologist
and with Gold Seal as a Project Manager and Estimator. Tom
is experienced with Primavera, MS Project, WinEst and Timberline
software.
In his spare time, besides being a father
of four, he is a Tae Kwon Do Master at a local martial arts
school.
